We are Michal and Daniel, the founders of Swapli, an Israeli couple living in Amsterdam for several years with our wonderful daughters. The idea to create Swapli was born from life itself—from who we are, our values, and our life experience.

In recent years, we increasingly chose vacations where we exchanged homes with Israelis and families from different countries, from Greece to Portugal. Each time we learned how much value there is in this experience: not just financial savings, but human connection, trust, and learning about other cultures through someone else's home. Each time we realized that this experience is much more than a technical or economic solution.

But finding a suitable exchange isn't always easy and mainly requires investing a lot of time and energy. After hours of searching in Facebook groups, in the mess of posts and comments, we understood how much we were missing an organized place to search for home exchanges by location, dates, or preferred destination.

And then one morning the idea sprouted to create such a community of Israelis for home exchange around the world—and Swapli was born.
